LEXINGTON, Ky. — The KHSAA Board of Control will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom to discuss the draft classification and alignment for the 2027 and 2028 football seasons.
The Kentucky Football Coaches Association president, Dale Estes (Campbellsville), sent an update to its members.
He stated that KHSAA commissioner Julian Tackett informed schools that the draft alignment for the 2027–28 season will be released on Wednesday, April 15. Schools will then have three weeks to appeal before the final alignment is voted on at the May 5 Board of Control meeting. Until that meeting takes place, contracts cannot officially be signed. Schools may begin preparing for bowl games in Weeks 1 and 2, but no other agreements can be finalized until the alignment is approved.
