Terry King coaching the Polar Bears against Robertson County in the All "A" Classic on Jan. 9, 2026 at Bracken County.

Bracken County has posted the job of head boys basketball coach on their website, indicating Terry King is no longer the coach. King later announced on Facebook that he had resigned.

Terry King served as head coach for three seasons and compiled a 35-57 record. King was hired in late July of 2023, replacing Adam Reed.

This season, Bracken County appeared to have its best opportunity to win its first district championship since 1999, but the Polar Bears blew a seven-point lead in the final 36 seconds.

Bracken County was able to beat Mason County in the regular season, 70-60, for their first win over the Royals since 1999, ending their 38-game losing streak to the Royals.
