
1. Scott (14-4)
The Eagles held onto the top spot with convincing region wins over Pendleton County, Bracken County then a 3-1 showing in the Capital City Classic in Frankfort. The only loss came to host Franklin County.
2. Bishop Brossart (12-6)
The Mustangs had a disappointing 2-3 showing in the All “A” State Tournament. They won both first sets against Ballard Memorial and Sayre, but could not put those teams away. They beat Kentucky Country Day in the Bronze bracket before losing to Eminence in the semifinals. Bishop Brossart still improved two wins after not winning any games at state last year.
Bishop beat Newport, New Richmond (Ohio) and Harrison County leading into the All “A” State Tournament. Callie Ritter had seven kills and five blocks to lead the Mustangs against Harrison County.
Bishop Brossart hosts Holmes on Thursday.
3. George Rogers Clark (11-2)
The Cardinals grabbed sole possession of the top seed in the 40th District with wins over Bourbon County and Montgomery County last week. Teigh Yeast had 13 kills and sophomore setter Anna Cooper had 26 assists in the win against Bourbon County.
George Rogers Clark has tough game at Madison Central on Tuesday.
4. Montgomery County (7-7)
The Indians played just once last week, losing a district seed game to George Rogers Clark. Alexis White and Erin Fawns had 14 kills each in the loss to the Cardinals.
Montgomery County travels to Bourbon County on Tuesday.
5. Calvary Christian (13-2)
The Cougars moved up after winning all three games last week including a huge 37th District win over the Campbell County Camels 3-2 (25-27, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 15-13) at home Thursday. Anna Hickey had 22 kills and Megan Arthur 21 in that win. Madison Stelzer dug up 45 balls in that win for Calvary.
Calvary hosts Heritage (Florence) on Tuesday.
6. Bracken County (8-2)
The Bears split two region games last week, losing to Scott, but beating Pendleton County. Jordan Ahrens had 13 kills in the win over Pendleton County and Macy Lucas had 12 with Rees Hargett tallying 24 assists.
Bracken County hosts Harrison County on Tuesday.
7. Harrison County (7-5)
The Fillies went 2-1 last week, beating St. Patrick and Williamstown before losing Thursday against Bishop Brossart. Twin sisters Lauren and Lexie Highlander had 14 and 12 digs, respectively against Bishop Brossart.
Harrison County travels to Bracken County on Tuesday.
8. Campbell County (4-9)
The Camels appeared to be turning some corners last week before losing the tight one at Calvary Christian. Faith Whitford and Amerie Mullins had 14 kills each in the win over Boone County last week.
The Camels host Pendleton County on Wednesday.
9. Mason County (10-7)
The Royals moved into double digits in the win column with three wins last week including one over rival Fleming County on Monday. Emmy Henderson led Mason County win the win over West Carter with 10 kills. Hayley Allison and Halle Pfeffer had 20 and 18 digs, respectively with Kyleigh Kirk recording 20 assists.
The Royals travel to Nicholas County on Tuesday.
10. Nicholas County (6-4)
The Jackets won both games last week. Junior Loralee Orazen led Nicholas County with 11 kills in the win over Pendleton County and senior Kylie Earlywine had eight. Mackenzie Davenport had 11 digs and Sadie Vice had 10. Earlywine and Allison Reid had four aces each. Reid also had eight assists and eight digs and Davenport had nine assists.
Earlywine and Orazan are the kills leaders for the Jackets. They will receive a boost this week as senior hitter Morgan Broderick got cleared to return Monday.
The Jackets host Mason County on Monday.
11. Augusta (5-4)
The Panthers made noise last week with wins over Bourbon County, St. Patrick and Newport. The Panthers travel to Pendleton County on Tuesday.
12. St. Patrick (5-9)
The Saints finished 1-2 last week. Mia Neeley had 12 kills in the loss to Augusta on Thursday.
St. Patrick hosts Hillsboro Christian Academy (Ohio) on Tuesday.
13. Bourbon County (4-8)
The Colonels beat Frankfort at home Monday before losing to Augusta and George Rogers Clark. They host Montgomery County and Sayre this week.
14. Paris (3-5)
The Hounds went 1-1 last week. Molly Mason had 15 assists in the Paris win over Robertson County.
Paris travels to Montgomery County on Thursday.
15. Pendleton County (1-15)
The Cats dropped all three games last week taking one set from Nicholas County. Gracie Cotterman had 11 kills in the loss to Bracken County.
Pendleton County hosts Augusta on Tuesday.
16. Robertson County (2-8)
The Devils also lost all three games last week. They host Menifee County on Thursday.
