Shawn Ransom will be the next boys basketball at Paris. Ransom will take over for George Baker, who coached the last two seasons with a record of 3-16 and 7-21.
Shawn Ransom was the girls coach at Bryan Station for three seasons from 2014-2016, going 35-54.
He was named the first girls basketball coach at Fredrick Douglass in Lexington when it opened in the fall of 2017. He coached there three season from 2018-2020, with a record of 22-70.
He resigned as head coach to pursue the boys basketball job at Douglass. A job he ultimately did not get. He stated in the article it has always been his dream to lead the boys program.
Ransom has also spent time coaching at Bourbon County, Lafayette, and Paris. Ransom is a Paris native who graduated from Paris High School.
