Thomas Mitchell Jr. has been named the head boys basketball at Robertson County. Mitchell coached the girls team from 2009-2013 and from 2018-2019, for a total of eight seasons.

Mitchell had a 50-130 record as the girls coach. He did, however, lead the Lady Devils to their second district championship in school history in 2012.

Mitchell will take over a young Robertson County team that lost 3,000-point scorer Justin Becker and Josh Pilosky. Aaron Massey served as interim coach last season with Mitchell as his assistant.

It was just a couple of years ago that Robertson County had their best seasons in school history, winning the 10th Region All “A” Classic in 2018 and 2021. They also won District Championships in 2020 and 2021.
