John Michael Reitz has announced he is resigning as head boys basketball coach at Nicholas County.

Reitz has been the coach for four seasons with a record of 36-84. This season, Nicholas County made it to the 10th Region Tournament for the first time in a decade. Prior to Nicholas County, Reitz was the head coach at Williamstown.

Coach Reitz said on Facebook:

I’m blessed to be part of a group of kids that worked so hard throughout the 4 years here at Nichols county. From the parents, administrators, teachers and friends thank you for being part of my life that I will cherish throughout my lifetime. Going to the region tournament, haven’t been in a decade and accomplished something that the kids will never forget. With that being said, I have resigned as the coach for Nicholas County boys basketball. The program is in the right direction and I’m always going to support those kids. The baby steps that we’ve made, will always be remembered in the community of Carlisle and the school. #teamtogether
