Bracken County vs. Mason County
The number #2 Royals and #3 Polar Bears will meet on a neutral floor in Lexington as a late Christmas present for fans of the 10th Region. This game will feature two of the region’s best players, #2 Blake Reed and #3 Terrell Henry. Read more about those two here. This will be a rematch of last year’s district championship game.
The two have not played in the regular season since the 2020-2021 season. Although they are in the same district, they are not required to play each other because the 39th district tournament pairings are determined by a blind draw; they do not seed.
Lexington Catholic head coach Brandon Salzman said this was one of the most requested matchups in the tournament. They will play on December 27th at 5:30 pm.
Campbell County vs. North Laurel
The Camels will be paired against the champions of the 13th Region and Kentucky commit Reed Sheppard. North Laurel is one of the teams in the mix for the Sweet Sixteen title. They will go against the best coach in the region and one of the best in the state, Aric Russell.
