Kentucky high school basketball officials are changing their look for the first time in decades.

Referees are now wearing a uniform with black sleeves. These are similar to the uniforms the NCAA implemented for the 2019-20 season. The purpose was to maintain a more “modern” look.

While officials can start wearing the new uniform if the other officials match, it will not be required until the 2027 postseason.

The uniform top can be purchased from approved vendors, like Fifth Region Officials Supplies, for $42.95 to $54.95
