Jerone Morton commits to Morehead State

Jerone Morton of George Rogers Clark announced his commitment to Morehead State University Thursday night on his Instagram.

Morton helped lead George Rogers Clark to the 2022 KHSAA Boys Sweet Sixteen State Championship in March. He was named Most Valuable Player of the State Tournament.

Morton averaged 18.7 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Cardinals last year. GRC went 37-1 with a perfect record in Kentucky. Their only loss was to Dorman, South Carolina in the King of the Bluegrass tournament.

PrepHoops Kentucky ranks Morton as the 6th best player in the class of 2023. Morton used the SB128: Supplemental School Year Program to reclassify from the 2022 to the 2023 class. Morton plays for Power Circle AAU.

Jerone Morton announced on Twitter on June 4th that he recived an offer from Morehead State. Morehead State went 23-11 last season finishing 3rd in the Ohio Valley Conference.
