Some teams moved up or down, but the top three remained the same.
1. Bishop Brossart (6-0)
The ‘Stangs won their three games last week to stay undefeated and retain the region’s top spot. That included a win at Robertson County in the All “A” 10th Region quarterfinals.
Evelyn Laker and Callie Ritter lead Bishop Brossart with 61 and 55 kills, respectively, and Audrey Arnold has a team-high 21 aces. Ritter also has a team-high 16 blocks. Grace Frommeyer has 107 digs and 14 aces to lead Bishop Brossart and setter Aubrey Rebholz has 150 assists.
The ‘Stangs travel to New Richmond on Monday.
2. Montgomery County (5-1)
The Indians dropped their first game of the season to Madison Central, but came back to down Calvary Christian on Thursday. In the loss to Madison Central, setter Meredith Miles had 31 assists and Ava Hudson had nine kills to go with 10 digs. Sophie Fouch and Hagan Stilz led Montgomery County with 15 and 12 digs, respectively, with Kinley Auxier recording eight kills and four blocks. Miles, Stilz and Fawns served three a piece.
The Indians host George Rogers Clark on Tuesday.
3. George Rogers Clark (5-2)
The Cardinals won a crucial 40th District seed game at Bourbon County before besting Lafayette at home.
Entering last week, Elayna Swart and Brooke Gough led GRC in kills as setter Anna Cooper continues to nicely distribute the ball. Addison Palmer and Swart lead the Cardinals on defense with Swart and Gough leading the team in aces.
The Cardinals travel to Montgomery County on Tuesday for another crucial 40th District game.
4. Scott (3-3)
The Eagles won both games last week to even the record to .500 on the young season.
In the win over Lloyd Memorial, Jacinda Campbell led the Eagles with 10 kills and Arianna Graves had seven. Emory Sullivan had 11 digs and 10 aces with Shelby White tallying 13 assists. Kinley Dunford added 10 digs and seven assists.
Scott travels to St. Henry on Monday.
5. Bracken County (6-1)
The Bears won their lone game at home against Bourbon County on Tuesday.
Isabella Godman and Sophia Bachman led the Bears in kills entering the week and Rees Hargett distributes the ball well. Hargett and Aleigha Leist led Bracken County on defense.
Bracken County travels to Calvary Christian on Monday.
6. Bourbon County (8-3)
The Colonels followed two losses early in the week with wins over Fleming County and Grant County in the Class 2A Sectional Tournament to clinch a spot in Owensboro for the 2A State Tournament in a few weeks.
Katie Abner and Hayli Burberry continue to lead the offensively with Gia Griffin leading the team in blocks. Izzy Jett led the team in digs entering the week and Kinley Kearns continues to make nice sets. Jett, Kearns and Abner also led the team in aces.
Bourbon County hosts Augusta on Monday.
7. Paris (3-1)
The Hounds won their lone game last week, 3-0 over Fleming County.
Angie Romero started things with nine digs and Gabrielle Gardner had a team-high seven assists with Mia Mason tallying six assists. Mia Mason also had nine kills with Emmalyn Ogden recording seven kills. Ogden also had four aces with Molly Mason and Anaiya Hayden recording three aces each. Hayden also had two assisted blocks.
Paris travels to Mason County on Thursday.
8. Calvary Christian (8-3)
The Cougars went 2-2 on the week.
In the win at Grant County, Megan Arthur led the Cougars with 17 kills. Madison Stelzer had 36 digs and 11 aces with Annabel Leach and Natalia McGlynn tallying 18 and 10 assists, respectively. Ava Dahler had 18 digs with Leach and Arthur recording 13 digs each.
Calvary Christian hosts Bracken County on Monday.
9. Harrison County (4-2)
The Fillies managed to pick up three wins last week before losing to Grant County in the 2A Sectional Tournament on Saturday.
Harrison County hosts Mason County on Monday.
10. Campbell County (1-2)
The Camels knocked off county rival Highlands in Fort Thomas on Tuesday to pick up the first win in the Alicia Rice Era.
In that game, Amerie Mullins led the Camels with 12 kills and Lydia Fry had eight. Adalyn Bertsch had 20 assists with Riley Herrick tallying six aces. Chloe Hershey led Campbell County on defense with 23 digs with Mullins and Bertsch recording 12 and 11, respectively.
Campbell County hosts Grant County on Tuesday.
11. Augusta (5-2)
The Panthers won two district seed games against Mason County and St. Pat’s last week.
Kyleigh Kirk and Kahghan Hinson lead the Panthers with 52 and 48 assists, respectively on the season. Adalen Gilliam has 41 kills and Aryanna Davis is second with 36 kills. Kirk also leads the Panthers with 52 digs. Davis also has a team-high 13 aces with Samantha Young recording 11.
Augusta travels to Bourbon County on Monday.
12. Mason County (4-5)
The Royals went 1-1 last week with a loss to district rival Augusta.
Karsyn Dotson leads Mason County with 141 assists on the season with Reagan Workman and Darcy Fields tallying 48 and 41 kills, respectively. Workman also had 10 aces and 90 digs. Kate Davenport leads the Royals with 93 digs with Raylee Dotson recording 90 digs. Fields also had 15 solo blocks.
Mason County travels to Harrison County on Monday.
13. Nicholas County (1-4)
After two 3-2 losses in the first week, the Jackets ventured to Fleming County last week and won one of those games. Allison Reid led the Jackets with 23 assists in that game with Loralee Orazan recording 16 kills. Reid also had 25 aces with Abby McNabb tallying 25 digs. Orazan added 17 digs and Brinlee Fryman had 16. Ryan Jeter and Reid added 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
Nicholas County travels to St. Pat’s on Tuesday.
14. Pendleton County (1-3)
The Cats lost both games last week.
Against Williamstown, Elizabeth Ammerman recorded 11 assists and 13 digs. Allieona Sweigart led the Cats with 15 digs with Alayna Gosney and Hadley Spaulding serving four aces a piece. Kylie Dunn led Pendleton County with eight kills.
Pendleton County hosts Robertson County on Tuesday.
15. St. Patrick’s (3-7)
The Saints beat Holmes and Newport, but lost to Augusta last week in a tight 3-2 game.
St. Patrick’s hosts Nicholas County on Tuesday.
16. Robertson County (0-5)
The Devils dropped three in a row last week.
Robertson County hosts Menifee County on Monday.
