Eli Strait coaches Paris against Kentucky Country Day at Sayre on Dec. 22, 2025.

The Greyhounds will be looking for a new coach next season–the next coach will be their fifth since Terence Brooks resigned after the 2020 season to go to Harrison County.

Paris was 3-21 this past season with a young roster and tough schedule.

Paris showed a promising future with their entire roster returning. That roster included freshman Brayden Strait and eighth-grader Keegan Strait, the two coach’s sons, who averaged 12.6 and 8.3 points per game, respectively. Leading scorer with 14.6 ppg, Braylon Francis, will be a junior next year.

Eli Strait was named the head coach on April 16th, 2025.

From the school’s press release when he was hired:

A former All-State and All-City player, Strait starred at Tates Creek High School under longtime coach Nolan Barger. He continued his athletic career at Gardner-Webb University, a Division I program in North Carolina, where he served as captain of both the men’s basketball and soccer teams.

Following his college career, Strait returned to his roots, contributing to player development and coaching at Tates Creek before co-founding CKY Hoopers, a competitive grassroots travel program that participates on the Adidas Jr. 3SSB circuit, featuring teams across multiple grade levels. The program was launched in collaboration with former University of Kentucky player Marquis Estill.
