Pendleton County High School will officially retire the #11 jersey of Dontaie Allen on Friday, February 6, in their game against Harrison County.
Allen finished his Pendleton County career with 3,255 points and 1,228 rebounds.
During the 2018-19 season, he averaged 42.9 points and 14.2 rebounds but was limited to 13 games after suffering a torn ACL on December 22, 2018.
On December 21, 2018, he scored a career-high 57 points in a win over Bryan Station. Allen was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball in 2019
Allen committed to Kentucky and later played for the Wildcats. One of his most notable games came on January 2, 2021, when he scored 23 points and made seven threes in Kentucky’s double-overtime win at Mississippi State.
At Western Kentucky, Allen played in 33 of 34 games in 2023-24, averaging 8.2 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 40.0% from three (56-for-140).
He scored a season-high 30 points vs. FIU on January 25, 2024.
Allen spent his final college season at Wyoming. He appeared in 32 games with 17 starts, averaging 24 minutes per game. He finished the season at 7.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, shooting 38.3% from the field.

Dontaie Allen completed an exceptional career as a five-year starter and the program’s all-time leader in scoring, rebounding, and shot blocking, finishing with 3,255 points, 1,228 rebounds, and 284 blocks.
Throughout his career, Dontaie recorded eight 50+ point performances and three triple-doubles, showcasing his dominance and versatility on the court.
He led his team to three district championships and a regional semifinal appearance, earning First Team All-State honors in 2018 and 2019. During his senior season, Dontaie signed with the University of Kentucky and was awarded the prestigious Kentucky Mr. Basketball honor.
Beyond his accomplishments at PCHS, Dontaie continued to represent himself, his family, and his community with pride while competing at the collegiate level. His college career included stops at Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Wyoming, further cementing his legacy both on and off the court.
