Cayden Reed’s appeal for eligibly following his transfer to Montgomery County was denied today by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. His first game back will be on January 25th vs. Mason County at Fleming County. Reed’s last varsity game was on January 23rd, 2024 for the Royals against East Jessamine. Therefore, he is eligible on January 24th, 2025, one full year after his last game. He was able to play summer basketball and practice with Montgomery County.

Reed started playing at the varsity level as a 7th-grader at Bracken County where he played four seasons. He played at Mason County last season as a junior. His freshman year, Reed helped Bracken County to the 2022 All “A” Classic state quarterfinals and to the 10th Region finals. His sophomore year at Bracken County, he averaged 16.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. For his career, he has over 1,700 points, 550 rebounds, 450 assists, and 300 steals.
