COACHES’ COMMENTS
Andy Arn, St. Patrick:
— “Izzy’s a great player. She’s long. She can jump. She can finish. She can go left or right. I think she was really able to put it all together during the district. Unfortunately, being as aggressive as she was, she got herself into foul trouble tonight. It’s not in her vocabulary to dial it back.
— “I told them that this is an opportunity. Every success and failure we’ve had this season, this is an opportunity to trump everything. I felt like we had some confidence even though we lost to Brossart earlier. in the season”
— “[The group of seniors] are a special group. When it’s all said and done, as a group, they have over 80 wins for their career. They’re just a fantastic group, and I think they’ll go down in history as one of the best classes to ever play at St. Patrick. What else can you say about them?”
Steve Brown, Bishop Brossart:
— “I thought depth would be an issue for them [St. Patrick]. Getting Riggs in foul trouble was big for us. She gave us fits with 16 points tonight. She had 7 in the first quarter, and they caught a little by surprise on an adjustment they made on their motion offense.”
— “Olivia Lloyd, she just means so much to us. It took us a little bit over a half to learn how to play when she wasn’t out there.”
— “We have no juniors. So when we go to the bench, we’ve got.. sophomores and freshmen. It’s a lot to ask of them to come out to the Fieldhouse and step right up and get things done.”
— “When you look at our scoring, that’s our recipe. We have four in double figures. When we’re successful, that’s how it looks.”
