Week 2 Review
George Rogers Clark 53, Belfry 27
Joe Chirico’s team had a bounce back win over traditional 3A power Belfry in Pond Creek. Sam Clemons threw two touchdowns to Bryce Chestnut and Hadon Cecil. Clemons was 15/22 passing with 196 yards. Bryce Chestnut ran the ball 21 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored four 2-point conversions. Howard Jones also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The Cardinals move to 1-1.
Bethel-Tate, OH 18, Bishop Brossart 14
Bishop Brossart dropped to 0-2 this past weekend, albeit to good competition. Keegan Gulley was a 13/27 on his passes for 80 yards with one interception and one touchdown. Cameron Mandel ran the ball 14 times for 88 yards. Luke Schroeder was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Smith made both PAT’s.
Beechwood 50, Campbell County 7
Campbell County went from a running clock win to a running clock loss in back-to-back weeks. Quarterback Nate Smith completed 5 of his 15 throws for just 50 yards. On the ground he had 9 rushes for 36 yards and. touchdown. Garyn Jackson had 16 attempts for no yards.
Fleming County 54, Nicholas County 12
The Bluejackets took a big loss on the road in Flemingsburg. Oscar Saucedo completed only one pass for 10 yards which led to a touchdown. Alex Koeder ran the ball 11 times for only 32 yards. Combined the team had 51 yards of offense.
Harrison County 56, Estill County 46
Kaydon Custard put up another big night of stats in their win that lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes and ended at 1:45 p.m. Custard threw for 245 yards on 17/30 passing for four touchdowns. He ran the ball 10 times for 57 yards and two more touchdowns. He also had a pick-six.
Tanner Tumey, Jaxson Zink, and Taylor Conway all had touchdown receptions.
Mason County 34, Montgomery County 14
With senior quarterback Keshaun Thomas injured, Teegin Routt made a stunning debut with their 20-point win in Maysville. Routt completed 8/15 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns Landon Scilley and Max Arrasmith. Cole Horch returned a kick-off for a touchdown and Joey Staggs recovered a fumble for a touchdown. For Montgomery County, Jacob Gumm was 15/25 on passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Mason and Montgomery both go to 1-1.
Paris 58, Paintsville 12
The Greyhounds are off to a hot start, outscoring their opponents 108-12 in their first two games. Juluis Gregory completed 6/8 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Jakari Ransom caught one of those and Elijah Webb the other. On the ground, Jayden Holman, Jakari Ransom, and Brandon Santigo all had a touchdown. Paris had 136 rushing yards total.
North Bullitt 56, Scott 25
Trey Cook threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, but was 13/29 with three interceptions. Kaymon Coleman ran it 9 times for 132 yards and a touchdown. Scott drops to 0-2.
South Laurel 18, Bourbon County 6
