A message from Will Jones, founder of 10thRegion.com:

One year ago I decided to create 10thRegion.com as a way to cover local high school sports. The support from the 10th Region community has been amazing, and I appreciate everyone that took the time to visit the website and follow us on social media. We gathered almost a quarter-million views from nearly one-hundred thousand different visitors.

Though I have made some money from writing articles and from advertisements, I have pretty much just broken even with they money and time spent creating the website and attending over one hundred varsity athletic events this year.

Almost a decade ago in my freshman year of high school, I created the @brackencounty Twitter account. I started posting scores and news on Twitter from there I became more interested in local sports journalism and history. After high school. I planned on attending college for journalism but decided to become a teacher like I originally planned.

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in the fall of 2020 with my bachelors degree and in the spring of 2023 with my masters degree in education. I currently teach at Harrison County High School and just finished my second year of teaching social studies and computer science.

While I love being a teacher, sports journalism has always been a second passion of mine. I have tried to stay involved in high school athletics in various ways.

Though a lot of the stuff I have done is for Bracken County, I am enjoying learning more about all the other schools in the area, like my current school Harrison County, and the history of the 10th Region as a whole.

A few weeks ago, I planned the inaugural 10th Region Baseball All-Star Game. Everything went great and it was a lot of fun. It was a great way to cap off the 2022-2023 school year. I am hoping to expand this to other sports next season.

Thank you again for all the support and I can’t wait for the 2023-2024 year!
