Simon Clouse named new Nicholas County football coach

Nicholas County announced that Simon Clouse will be the new head football coach for the Bluejackets in the upcoming 2023 season.  He replaces longtime coach Robert Hopkins who retired earlier this month.

Clouse has coached the Bracken County Polar Bears for the last two season.  In his first head coaching position, Clouse had a record of 12 wins and 9 losses, with last seasons record being 7-3.

Bracken County recently moved up to 2A, and will be in a district with Beechwood, Carroll County, Gallatin County, Owen County, and Walton-Verona.

Nicholas County remains in 1A, but will now be in a district with Fairview, Paris, and Raceland.

Clouse is a Cynthiana native, where he played football and graduated from Harrison County High School in 2009.
