The Pendleton County Athletic Department announced today that they have parted ways with head boys basketball coach Sam Elsbernd after four seasons.
Elsbernd is a graduate of Holmes High School and was an assistant coach for their 2009 State Championship team. He was later an assistant coach at Scott and Bracken County and head girls’ basketball coach at Bracken County.
Elsbernd had a record of 28-83 in his four seasons.
Sam Elsbernd posted on his Facebook today saying:
Today I met with my players and coaches and told them I would not be returning as the basketball coach at Pendleton County.
I would like to thank everyone for the support over the years. I loved my time here as the coach and I continue to wish the program well. Please continue to support the program, the players and managers deserve it.
I could thank a million people for the past four years, but I just want to say anyone who took the time over the years to do anything for the basketball program, thank you so much.
