The Mustangs get their season started by hosting the Bearcats in what could be on the best games this weekend. Keegan Gulley will be the starting QB for the Mustangs this season. They return their third leading receiver Alex Amin.
Bourbon County 46, Western Hills 13
The Colonels host Western Hills who they haven’t played in a decade. However, they beat them 49-0 in 2014 and 75-20 in 2013. Bourbon County lost quarterback Clay Estes, who threw for 2,057 yards last year.
Bracken County 39, Pendleton County 12
The Polar Bears are expected to handle their border rivals Pendleton County. The Polar Bears are looking to sophomores quarterback Jackson Whitten and running back Dalton Tarter to have a big year. Bracken County had a 7-3 season last year while Pendleton went 0-10.

Heated rivals in every sport in the 37th District and 10th Region, the Camels and Eagles will meet for the first time in school history on the gridiron.
Central Hardin 34, George Rogers Clark 20
The Cards host the Clark County Bowl on Friday. Although they lost quarterback Tyleik Maxwell, they return leading rusher Kalen Washington. Washington ran for 1,001 yards last season.
Calloway County 35, Harrison County 31
The Thorobreds travel to Washington County to take on Calloway County on Saturday night. Harrison County returns dual threat quarterback Kaydon Custard for his senior year. Custard threw for 2,179 yards and ran for 713.
Russell 28, Mason County 22
The Royals are coming off one of their best seasons in school history going 13-1. They lost by 10 to Bardstown in the state semifinals. They return senior quarterback Keshaun Thomas who threw for 2,188 yards.
Montgomery County 45, Magoffin County 14
The Indians host the 76th annual recreation bowl on Saturday night.
Nicholas County 42, Lewis County 21
The Bluejackets start off the season in Vanceburg under new coach Simon Clouse. They will try to replace Tate Letcher, who threw for over 1,000 yards last season and ran for over 800.
Frankfort 34, Paris 28
The Greyhounds return the duo of Kaden Frederick and Jakari Ransom. Frederick threw for 1,727 yards last season and Ransom received 578 of those yards and ran for 549 more.
