The 2026 Kentucky high school football season kicked off on Friday. Below is a recap of each game with stats from Arbiter. but first, here’s the games coming up this week:

Mason County 35, Bracken County 0
Mason County rushed for 232 yards and held Bracken County to minus 1 yard on the ground in a season-opening shutout. Reid Anderson gained 101 yards on four carries. Quarterback Camden Gregory rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns, and Leonard Avery added 44 yards and a score. Gregory also threw a touchdown pass to Jahmir Thompson. Bracken County’s Witten Daughtery intercepted Gregory twice. The Polar Bears finished with 47 passing yards and 46 total yards.
Campbell County 32, Scott 7
Campbell County gained 323 yards, including 189 rushing, and recorded eight sacks. Grady Lucas rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown, and Cooper Lairson added 65 yards. Quarterback Xander Guy threw for 134 yards and a touchdown to Tyler Harney. Blake Minor kicked a 28-yard field goal. The Camels finished with 13 tackles for loss. Alex Riedinger had eight tackles and five sacks, Max Cole had two sacks and Griffin Eaton had one.
Paris 43, Frankfort 22
Paris won despite being outgained in yards 343-333. Braylon Francis rushed 13 times for 121 yards and four touchdowns. Samuel Wilson threw for 92 yards and a touchdown, a 53-yard pass to Jose Crooks. Bruce Hayden returned a kickoff for a touchdown. The Greyhounds recorded seven sacks, 12 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles. Chace Williams had 30 tackles according to posted stats and six sacks. Frankfort’s Toma Washington rushed for 109 yards and all three Panther touchdowns and threw for 113 yards.
George Rogers Clark 41, Great Crossing 14
Quarterback Carter Muzic accounted for 323 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener. Muzic completed 15 of 23 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 73 yards and a score. Haddon Cecil had 111 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Gunner Martin caught seven passes for 83 yards. Trey Davis rushed for two touchdowns. The Cardinals finished with 419 yards, 250 passing and 169 rushing.
Bourbon County 55, Grant County 0
Bourbon County shut out Grant County in the Dan Cummins Bourbon Bowl. ArbiterLive does not list individual statistics for either team, so statistical leaders could not be verified.
Hazard 42, Montgomery County 34
Hazard won on the road in one of the higher-scoring games of the opening weekend. The teams combined for 76 points. ArbiterLive lists the final score but does not list individual statistics for either team, so statistical leaders could not be verified.
Henry County 36, Harrison County 9
Jason Ray rushed 13 times for 142 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Kayson McAllister threw for 84 yards, and Camden Clark had 85 receiving yards. Ray also recorded two sacks, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Henry County finished with five sacks, 13 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles. Baylor Nolin returned an interception 83 yards for a touchdown.
Nicholas County 32, Pendleton County 8
Nicholas County rushed for 239 yards and intercepted six passes. Jayden Watkins carried 30 times for 170 yards and four touchdowns. Bentley Crump caught four passes for 92 yards and intercepted four passes. Pendleton County finished with 30 rushing yards. Quarterback Gavin Laney threw for 135 yards and a touchdown, a 48-yard pass to Kegan Barhorst, and was intercepted six times.
Bishop Brossart 30, Walton-Verona 22
Bishop Brossart won despite being outgained 302-269. Quarterback Landon Spaulding threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 54 yards. Brady Boruske caught eight passes for 159 yards and a touchdown and added an interception. Ryan Eldridge kicked a field goal and three extra points. Brossart intercepted Braxton Parr twice, and Landon Ketron returned one 70 yards for a touchdown. Walton-Verona’s Cooper Burch rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, and Andrew Lynn added 65 yards.
