
Bracken County 35, Mason County 21
The Polar Bears faced their neighboring rivals for the first time in school history and came away with a win. Daulton Tarter rushed for 148 yards on 22 carries, scoring three touchdowns. The star of the game was new quarterback Greg Benedict. Benedict had three interceptions, including one on Mason County’s final possession to secure the win for the Polar Bears. Campbell County 58, Scott 40
There was no deficit on offense in this shootout. Campbell County led just 38-34 with nine minutes left before the Camels’ defense started forcing turnovers and three-and-outs. The Camels forced three fumbles and one interception. They had 92 yards passing on five completions and 160 rushing yards on 27 carries. Scott looked much improved from last year, and senior quarterback Trey Cook looked phenomenal. Cook completed 21 of 29 passes for 381 yards and five touchdowns.
Nicholas County 38, Pendleton County 0
The Bluejackets stung the Wildcats with a shutout in Falmouth. Quarterback Chandler Kinney had 97 passing yards on nine completions. He also ran for 94 yards. Nicholas County had 291 rushing yards total. Read the full story here.

Bishop Brossart 15, Walton-Verona 7
The Mustangs grinded out a win against the Bearcats off I-75. The new quarterback, junior Landon Spaulding, threw the two touchdown passes and had 145 yards in the air. Nick Cozzi and Isaac Amin caught the two passes that scored.
Bourbon County 30, West Jessamine 28
The Colonels won on a walk-off 27-yard field goal from Gavin Thompson. The Dan Cummins Bourbon Bowl was also Tyquan Rice’s first win for the maroon team of Paris (instead of the orange).
Paris 56, Frankfort 0
New quarterback Guy Turner was the guy on Friday night in Frankfort. He completed four of five passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns. He ran the ball twice for 58 yards, scoring each time. He also had two interceptions at safety. The Greyhounds ran for 223 yards, and the defense forced three fumbles.
Scott County 42, George Rogers Clark 6
The Cardinals of Georgetown easily handled the Cardinals of Winchester. It was their 20th meeting since 1998, as these two met often when they were both in Class 6A. Scott County won for the 20th straight time over GRC. Clark’s lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run from Braylon Nester. Read the full story here.

Henry County 47, Harrison County 14
The Thorobreds managed just 25 rushing yards and 81 passing yards. Carter Curry threw one touchdown to Hunter Jones. Landon Custard scored the other touchdown on a fumble recovery.
Hazard 46, Montgomery County 14
Montgomery County led this one 14-13 at halftime. Hazard then scored 33 unanswered points. Talk about a halftime adjustment. Jacob Gumm threw for 82 yards, completing 8 of his 22 passes. The Indians had just 34 rushing yards.
