Week 6 Review
Grant County 38, Harrison County 16
The Thorobreds failed to make it two wins in a row after getting its first win of the year last week. JaCory Hinton threw for 92 yards, one touchdown and one interception while Jaxson Zink posted a rushing touchdown. Tanner Tumey led Harrison County with 62 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Sayre 42, Nicholas County 0
The Spartans remain undefeated after keeping the Blue Jackets at bay. Nicholas County combined for 149 rushing yards led by Wyatt Simons’ 64 yards. Sayre’s Luke Pennington went 13 of 15 for 208 yards and five touchdowns. Brock Coffman caught eight passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns.
Harrison, OH 49, Campbell County 14
Harrison held the Camels to 42 rushing yards as Campbell County fell to 2-4 on the year. Lucas Anthrop had 187 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception while Garyn Jackson and Xavier Fancher had 97 and 72 receiving yards, respectively, with both also scoring Campbell County’s two touchdowns. Elijah Depperschmidt led the Camels with 14 total tackles and one TFL.
Conner 56, Scott 0
The Eagles’ tough start to the season continued at the hands of the Cougars. Aaron Hampton led Scott with 47 receiving yards off four receptions. AJ Lemon and Josh Johnson led the defense with four total tackles apiece. Conner—now 5-1 this season—combined for 213 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Pikeville 28, George Rogers Clark 7
The defending Class 1A state champions kept GRC to 19 total yards on the ground and forced JD Mastin to throw three interceptions. Mastin did throw for 133 yards as Athias Morris had a team-high 60 yards.
Bracken County 50, Walton-Verona 8
Make that three consecutive wins for the Polar Bears. Daulton Tarter rumbled his way to 191 rushing yards and five touchdowns while also having a 35-yard pick 6 and a sack on his statsheet. Jackson Whitten and Caleb Emery each had 1.5 sacks as Bracken County recorded 6.5 total sacks.
