After day two of district play, we have out 10th Region Tournament fields. We will cover the Campbell County vs. Scott boys championship game on Wednesday.

Boys Basketball

Region Tournament field: Campbell County, Scott, Harrison County, Pendleton County, Mason County, Bracken County, George Rogers Clark, and Bourbon County.

Mason County 88, Augusta 56

The Royals were clicking on all cylinders and left no doubt in their route over the Panthers. Mason County led by as much as 39 points. Braylon Hamilton scored 26 points off 6 threes. Landon Scilley scored 25 points and was 10/16 from the floor with 3 threes. Feldhaus had a quiet night scoring with 6 points but was big on the boards with 11 rebounds. The Royals out-rebounded Augusta 43-25. Conner Snapp had 14 points and Kylan Hinson had 11.

Bourbon County 59, Paris 53

The Colonels win the rubber match over rival Paris.

George Rogers Clark 73, Montgomery County 47

The Cardinals had a balanced scoring attack in their win. Breland Morrison led with 19 points. JP Gaines had 11. Reshaun Hampton, Malachi Ashford, and Montez Gay all had 9 points. Clark only led by 3 points at the end of one and 6 points at the end of two. Luke Fawns was injured mid-way through the first and did not return. Ethan Dunn and Breccan Decker tied for the team lead with 14 points.

Pendleton County 57, Nicholas County 53

Pendleton County is heading to the regional tournament for the first time in four years. Alex Beyst led with 20 points. Aden Merrill had 19 points and Austin Kirsch had 9 points, 9 blocks, and 10 rebounds. Wyatt Clark scored his 2,000th career point in the loss.

Harrison County 72, Robertson County 32

The Thorobreds rested four of their starters to stay healthy.

Girls Basketball

Region Tournament field: Campbell County, Scott, Nicholas County, Pendleton County, Mason County Bracken County, George Rogers Clark, and Montgomery County.

Scott 33, Bishop Brossart 30

We knew this was going to be a good one. Noelle Price had 16 for the Lady Eagles. Graylee Kremer had 11 for Brossart.

Mason County 61, Augusta 48

Amarah Reed led the Lady Royals with 25 points. Lexi Young had 15 points and 8 rebounds. Raegan Tackett had 17 points for Augusta. Augusta’s starters played all 32 minutes, and neither team had points off the bench.
