Dane Damron has been hired as the next football at George Rogers Clark after his one season at Paris. The Greyhounds upset defending state champion Sayre in the second round of the playoffs.
Damron began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant under the legendary Coach Roy Kidd at Eastern Kentucky University, where he also earned his graduate degree in Sports Administration.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Damron has led programs at both the high school and collegiate levels. He spent ten years as a college head coach with stints at Kentucky Christian University and the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and seven years on the Eastern Kentucky University coaching staff, five of those as Offensive Coordinator.
Before returning to the high school ranks, he also served as head coach at Boyd County High School.
A former standout quarterback at Georgetown College, Coach Damron holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and brings a deep commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the field.
Damron replaces Joe Chirico, who left for Montgomery County.
