The Nicholas County boys basketball and Bishop Brossart girls basketball teams claimed the 2026 10th Region All “A” Classic titles last week and will head to the Owensboro Sportscenter for the statewide tournament.

Nicholas County Bluejackets
The Bluejackets (10-7) won the All “A” Classic for the first time since 1994 when they defeated Bishop Brossart 74-61 in Brooksville. Caiden Smith, Peyton Hatton, and Braxton Martin were named to the All-Tournament team.
Nicholas County will face Harlan out of the 13th Region on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CST. The winner of that game will face the winner of Newport (9th Region) and Lexington Christian (11th Region) on Friday at 6:00 p.m. CST (updated).
The Harlan Green Dragons are 7-10 and are making their fourteenth appearance in the statewide tournament. They have a 17-11 record in the tournament and have two state titles in 1994 and 1995.
Harlan has not posted stats for their last five games. Their latest stats report shows they are led in scoring by sophomore #35 Kobe Noe with 16 ppg. Noe also leads in rebounding with 6.7 rpg. Sophomore #3 Izack Saylor follows in scoring with 10.2 ppg.
The Green Dragons cruised through the regional tournament at Oneida Baptist. They defeated Jackson County (80-65), Barbourville (56-29), and Middlesboro (73-46).
Nicholas County and Harlan do not have any common opponents. The Massey Ratings give Nicholas County a 58% chance of winning with a score of 65-62.
Bishop Brossart Lady Mustangs
The Lady ‘Stangs (18-1) won their eighteenth regional All “A” title when they defeated Nicholas County 61-55.
Bishop Brossart will face Green County out for the 5th Region on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. CST. The winner of that game will face the winner of Danville Christian Academy (12th Region) and Pikeville (15th Region) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. CST.
The Green County Dragons are 13-6 and making their thirteenth appearance in the statewide tournament. They have a 6-12 record in the tournament overall.
Green County is led in scoring by sophomore #31 Scout Brockman with 18.5 ppg. Following her is sophomore #12 Molly Dixon with 11.7 ppg.
Green County and Bishop Brossart both played in the Lady of the South Invitational over winter break. The Massey Ratings give Bishop Brossart a 74% chance of winning with a score of 59-47.
