1. Montgomery County — The Indians made a run to the regional championship before falling to Harrison County in extra innings. They return a large majority of their lineup and added some players under second-year coach Sam Sutton. Carter Poe transferred from Powell County, where he led the team with 39 hits and a .406 batting average as a sophomore. They also gained Abe Mullins from George Rogers Clark, who had 37 hits as a sophomore. They return Brayden Dore (44 hits), Jayse Mays (39 hits), and Rex Turner (31 hits). Their ace this year will be Evan Copher, who threw 47.2 innings with a 1.62 ERA.
2. Campbell County — The Camels return 10thRegion.com Pitcher of the Year and Player of the Year Tyler Schumacher, who is committed to Marshall. Schumacher threw 47 innings with 78 strikeouts and a 1.04 ERA last season. At the plate, he had 45 hits with a .455 BA. Top returning hitters are Gavin Kramer (33 hits, .471 BA) and Camden Tiemeier (29 hits, .319 BA). Returning on the mound is William Peed (24.2 IP, 2.27 ERA).
3. Harrison County — The Thorobreds won their 23rd regional championship last season. They return Blake Green (31 hits) and Jordan Persinger (27 hits). On the mound, they return Cooper Slade (50.1 IP, 2.23 ERA), who pitched all nine innings of the region title game.
4. George Rogers Clark — The Cardinals graduated several players, and many others transferred. Chris Varney will serve as the interim coach this season, replacing Eddie Brooks, who was ousted just before the season started. Their lead returner at the plate, who did not transfer or graduate, is catcher Jacob Todd. Todd batted .368 and had 32 hits. They also return their top two pitchers, Myles Frick and Haddon Cecil. Frick threw three 38 innings with a 1.66 ERA, and Cecil threw 30.2 innings with a 2.05 ERA. Abrahm Howard and Tielor Howie transferred to Madison Central.
5. Nicholas County — The Bluejackets are led by two-way junior Jayden Robinson. Robinson led the team with 30 hits last season, along with pitching 46.1 innings with a 4.23 ERA. Chandler Kenney was second on the team with 25 hits
6. Scott — The Eagles return leading hitter Trey Cook (33 hits), but their ace pitcher, Ty Cook (53.2 IP, 1.04 ERA) is out indefinitely with a knee injury from basketball.
7. Mason County – The Royals lost a majority of their bats from last year. Carter Roark had 15 hits last year, and Luke Butler had 12 in their 21 games. For pitching, they have Brady Mefford, who got the win on the mound in the regional semifinals when Mason County won the title in 2024.
8. Bishop Brossart — The Mustangs lost several bats and arms to graduation. Isaac Amin returns after 27 hits with a .351 batting average. Luke Nelter also returns with 21 innings pitched and a 5.33 ERA.
9. Bourbon County — The Colonels lost three of their top hitters from what was overall a young and inexperienced team.
10. Calvary Christian — The Cougars return senior two-way player Luke Corbin. Corbin had 28 hits and threw 39.2 innings with a 2.47 ERA.
11. Pendleton County — The Wildcats return Kevin Miles with 17 hits and Colton Ortleib, who pitched 29.2 innings.
12. Bracken County — The Polar Bears hitter Corbin Combess and pitcher Noah Bachman.
13. Paris — The Greyhounds return Will Wilson with 28 hits and Dexter Leverett, who pitched 34.2 innings with a 3.03 ERA.
14. Augusta — The Panthers return Maddox Hesler with 25 hits and 25.1 innings pitched.
15. Robertson County — The Black Devils return Henry Haag with 16 hits and 30.2 innings pitched.
