Bishop Brossart 21, Holy Cross (Cov) 13
The Mustangs put up 250 yards of offense in a 52-0 win over Bellevue. Their defense remains strong, giving up only 8.3 points per game.
Bourbon County 38, Woodward, OH 31
The Colonels have stayed up past 1:00 am to finish their last two games. They take on Woodward, OH, out of Cincinnati in the Mingua Beef Jerky Bowl in Paris. Offense hasn’t been a problem for Bourbon, as they put up 70 points against Harrison behind QB Clay Estes and RB Josh Moody.
Bracken County 27, Trimble County 6
The Polar Bears are starting off 2-0 for the first time since 2012 and are looking to make it 3-0. They dominated last year over Trimble County, winning 42-0 at home.
Cooper 28, Campbell County 21
The Camels’ program had a rough weekend losing to their in-county rival Highlands 44-13, where their coach Brian Weinrich spent almost a decade as head coach. Off the field, the Campbell County football program is in the middle of an accused assault allegedly happening on the bus ride to Woodford County. Police and school officials are investigating.
George Rogers Clark 42, Montgomery County 3
GRC is cruising right now under Joe Chirico, whose Cards are averaging 40 points per game. GRC will host Montgomery County in this rivalry game. MoCo is off to an 0-2 start with a loss to Mason County before their bye week. The 2022 GRC Boys Basketball team will be receiving their State Championships rings at halftime.
West Jessamine 44, Harrison County 26
The Thorobreds’ defense has been struggling to say the least. They have given up 36 and 22 points, and last week gave up 70 points to Bourbon County. The offense has been putting up big numbers as well behind QB Kayden Custard, scoring 53 points this week vs. Bourbon.
Nicholas County 38, Fort Knox 10
The Bluejackets are looking to be 4-0 for the first time since 2016 when they had their near perfect regular season. They dominated Fairview, the last ranked team in 1A, last week 51-6.
Paris 35, Ludlow 34
They Greyhounds fell at Pineville last week 50-19. They host 2-0 Ludlow this week in what should be one of the best games in the area. Paris has a balanced rushing and reciving attack from Jakari Ransom and Darian Bell, who are avergaing nearly identical offenseive stats.
Henry County 61, Pendleton County 3
It looks like the Wildcats’ rough year will continue this week. They did have a solid outing against Newport last week, although losing 31-16. They lost to Owen County last year 45-0.
Conner 26, Scott 21
Scott got in the win column last week with a dominating performance over Holy Cross. Bennie Hill ran for 182 yards scoring 2 touchdowns. They fell to Boone County the week prior 14-13.
Bye Week
Mason County heads into the bye week at 3-0. The Royals feel pretty good after their win over Tates Creek, arguably the best team they will play all year. They take on Boyd County on the road in Week 5, which will be another tough challenge.
